Admin. resignation dissatisfying to all involved

Juniperview University announced this week that, after 18 years of
service, Dr. Gina Morsby will be stepping down from her position as
Vice Regent of Appalachian Relations.

Dr. Morsby's resignation came as a shock to students and staff.

"Well, it happened so abruptly, and in the middle of the semester,"
said sophomore Carrie Vest. "None of us expected her to leave! We'll
miss her so much."

A representative of Dr. Morsby's staff expressed a similar sentiment,
saying, "No one is better equipped to do this job. We are all deeply
grieved that she is stepping down."

The official statement released by the university states, "We fully
affirm Dr. Morsby's competence and commitment to the university. We do
not question Dr. Morsby's commitment to the university doctrinal
statement, nor are there any concerns about her spiritual walk. Her
stellar job performance is the stuff of legend. She is a perfect fit
here at Juniperview and we would never want to see her go. Therefore,
we wish her well elsewhere."

In an act of solidarity and grief, students and staff wore black to
chapel and class on Wednesday. They also showered Dr. Morsby with
cards and gifts to express their appreciation.

"While it is true that Dr. Morsby had no desire to leave, and while it
is true that the university had no desire to lose Dr. Morsby, we
maintain that this was a mutual agreement involving both parties,"
said Thomas Thompson, Vice Regent of Academic Pursuits.

"She did not want to leave, and we all wanted her to stay. It is very
unfortunate indeed."
